Topten presents Plug & Play Solar Systems.
Plug & Play solar systems can be installed by yourself and without an electrician. Oftentimes they do not require a permit, but must be registered with your local utility company. Typical locations for installation are: balcony railings, roof terraces, fences, facades, lawns, garage roofs.
Technical criteria
In order to qualify for Topten, solar systems must meet the following criteria:
- Plug & Play (ready to be plugged into a power outlet)
- Minimum performance of Inverter and Panel (lower value counts): 250 Watt
- Max. performance of all solar panels combined: 1'200 Watt(peak)
- Max. AC power output of all inverter combined: 600 Watt
- All components possess a Declaration of Conformity
- Protective device: Either an all-current-sensitive residual
current monitoring unit (RCMU) is integrated in the inverter; or there is an
external residual current protective device FI Type B
- Product sets without battery
Order of presentation
The products are sorted according to the maximum output performance of the solar modules.
Glossary
Vendor and Model
Vendor and und naming of product set.
Power Watt
Maximum electrical output in watts of all solar panels included in the product kit.
Watt Inverter
Rated AC output power in watts of the inverter (sum of the rated output power of all inverters, if multiple). The inverter converts the direct current (DC) generated by the solar module into alternating current (AC) and feeds this into the grid.
A module inverter sits directly on the solar panel and changes the current of this one panel. A string inverter, on the other hand, converts the power of several modules into alternating current.
Number of Panels
Number of solar modules that make up the product set.
Dimensions
The dimensions of a solar panel in centimeters. If there are several panels in the scope of delivery, the number of panels is also noted in the "Width" field, e.g. 3x 170cm.
Type of Solar Cells
There are currently three different types of solar cells that are of interest to private users: monocrystalline solar cells, polycrystalline solar cells and thin-film cells.
