Topten.eu – Best Products of Europe – presents smartphones with a good repairability.
In order to be displayed on topten.eu, smartphones must meet the following criteria:
Repair index of 6.0 and higher
The repair index (indice de réparabilité) declared by manufacturers according to the directives from the French Ministry of Ecology (Ministère de la Transition écologique)
Order of presentation
Products are ranked according to their repairability score (Repair Index). The order of presentation can be changed.
Brand / Model
Brand and model name of the base model.
The repair index indicates how easy it is to repair smartphones - but also other devices such as laptops, washing machines or lawnmowers. The repairability of appliances is evaluated on the basis of 5 criteria. This results in an overall rating from 0 to 10 points.
The higher the score, the better the repairability. The values are colour-coded and are displayed as next to an icon with wrench and cogwheel.
The five assessment categories:
Documentation of repair instructions and schematics
Ease of dismantling the device (screws, for example, receive a better rating than gluing)
Availability of spare parts
Price of spare parts
